Denison, Sherman and Grayson County

Handmade baby quilts in Denison and Sherman.

Nayna has made quilts, and she enjoys baby quilts most of all. A handmade quilt is a keepsake for a new little one, made by a grandmother of four in her home sewing room in Denison. She makes them for families across Sherman and Grayson County.

Nayna reads every ticket herself and will tell you up front if it is not a good fit.

How to use a baby quilt safely

A baby quilt is meant to be loved, and it is also good to know how to use it safely.

The NIH Safe to Sleep campaign advises keeping comforters, quilts, pillows and blankets out of a baby's sleep area. For sleep, babies should be on a firm, flat surface with nothing soft around them.

That still leaves lots of ways to use a quilt. Spread it on the floor as a play mat for supervised tummy time while baby is awake. Hang it on the nursery wall. Use it for photos, or save it as a keepsake for later.

Many families also keep a baby quilt for years. It can become a toddler nap blanket once the child is older, a reading blanket, or a wall hanging in a bedroom. A quilt made by hand is sturdy enough for years of use and washing when it is cared for gently. Choosing colors with the nursery in mind makes it easy to display now and save for later. Some families pick colors that match the room, while others choose favorite colors that will still feel right when the child is older.

Nayna is happy to talk through size and use when you order, so the quilt fits how your family plans to enjoy it.

Meet Nayna

Hi, I'm Nayna. Pull up a chair.

"I have made quilts, but baby quilts are my favorite thing to make. A handmade quilt for a new little one is a gift that lasts."

I'm a wife, a mother of two and a grandmother of four. I've always loved crafting and sewing, and I've spent years doing alterations both professionally and from home.

I'm retired now, but I still sew right here from my home in Denison. When I'm not at the machine I'm with my family, loving on animals of every kind, or daydreaming about the beach.
